If you go: Navy Pier edition
WHO:
The Pier: Navy Pier announced it will reopen for the summer as of April 30.
WHAT: The initial opening will include the Navy Pier parking garage, Polk Bros Park, the North and South Docks, Pier Park, East End Plaza, tour boats and cruises, as well as the Sable hotel and some select restaurants.
The Centennial Wheel, the Pepsi Wave Swinger, and Carousel rides will be open.
There will be a huge amount of fireworks used over the summer because of a stockpile from compiled from Labor Day 2020
WHEN: April 30
Hours of operation will be between Sunday to Thursday 10 am to eight pm and Friday and Saturday 10 am to 10 pm. A second phase of reopening that includes indoor spaces and restaurants is tentatively scheduled for Memorial Day weekend.
WHERE: Navy Pier located in Chicago
WHY: To celebrate the easing of Covid restrictions and vaccinations. The feeling is optimistic that the summer can be as “normal” as possible.
